The Money Pit of Oak Island
The Money Pit of Oak Island
Oak Island is a 140 acre privately owned area on the south
shore of Nova Scotia. The history of the island has been dated back to
1750, and numerous excavations have occurred and are still going. It is
said possible pirate treasure was buried over 100 feet below. Another
tale leads the Nights of Templar to the area with their many secret
riches. The most famous part of treasure hunting there is an area called
the Money Pit. So far, the biggest fact about the "money pit" is that
millions of dollars have been sunk by investments digging the ground.
Many searchers have died there, and arguably, nothing of value to date
has been recovered.
