The Missing Amber Room
The Missing Amber Room
The construction of the Amber Room started in 1701. It
initially took 10 years to build, and became the 8th wonder of the world
until it vanished during World War II. The suspicions vary as to the
Amber Room's whereabouts. After being passed down from generation to
generation in the Soviet Union/Russia, it was taken by the Nazis during
their looting and bombing invasions. When Konigsberg Castle was bombed
in now Kaliningrad, it was suspected that the treasured room was
destroyed. It was also suspected that it was packed in to a vessel for
transport when the ship was destroyed by a submarine strike. If the
Amber Room wasn't destroyed during the war, it was secretly moved into
an undisclosed location. Most have been quiet about the matter, and some
have died suspiciously after speaking of the whereabouts.
