Someone decided to give France an opportunity to "win" 1 million francs to the person who decoded the 11 clues given as to the whereabouts of a mysterious golden owl. The person went by the name, Max Valentin. He hid the treasure in the woods in 1993 but he unfortunately passed in 2009. Valentin made it clear he checked on the owl to make sure it was still in the spot he hid it before his passing. To this day it isn't clear if the golden owl will ever be found, but treasure hunters are still interested in the unsolved mystery.
