In the early morning hours of a cold November morning in 1985, a man was brutally murdered in Dawson County. Exactly 30 years later, the crime remains unsolved, shrouded in mystery and speculation. Dexter Stefonek pulled off Interstate 94 and into the parking lot of the Bad Route rest area in western Dawson County. No one knows what happened next, but sometime after Stefonek stopped at Bad Route, someone, for some unknown reason, murdered him.
